Waste Types
MSW stands for municipal solid waste and is most commonly referred to as your typical household waste. C&D represents construction and demolition. It is as straight forward as its name. Waste generated from construction jobs such as new builds, renovations, and tear downs.
Roofing
Determining the volume and weight of shingles can be tricky. A simple rule of thumb is there are 100 square feet in 1 roofing square. Architectural shingles are roughly 400 pounds per roofing square, where smaller 3-tab shingles are closer to 250 pounds per roofing square.
Roof square feet / 100 x weight of shingles in a roofing square x number of layers = estimated pounds of shingles
Example: 2500 sq ft / 100 x 250 pounds x 1 layer = 6250 pounds or 3.13 tons
